So…it’s been a few months since I last wrote, but more for good reasons than anything else - things have been going well on both the home front and the baby front.

We now know that we are having a boy, although the cirstumstances by which we know that are a bit shady - My wife (who is a nurse) went from being an employee of the hospital where she works to being a patient.  She started having really bad abdominal pains and the doc on duty decided it would be wise to admit her.

So - after a barrage of tests, they determined that it was a gall bladder issue.  However, while doing the tests my wife was asked if she wanted to know what the sex of the baby was (since the doc could see it.).  Well, she was tired, in pain, maybe drugged up a bit and just wanted to know.

I walked into the ER at around 2AM to pick her up (since she couldn’t drive because of the meds) and the 1st word out of the docs mouth were “so, you going to tell him?”.  I knew right away.

Oh well.  At least it wasn’t bad news.

Related to this - she has been having more gall bladder attacks.  We have had miserable nights of sleep over the last few nights because the pain keeps waking her up.  Hopefully tonight is better.
